Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Screenings

OSF Saint Paul Medical Center comes to the Y to provide these screenings. You can have a fasting blood sugar or a post prandial (after you eat) blood sugar. Results are available immediately.

When: 2nd Tuesday of every month

After School Program

The Mendota Area Y will be offering an after school program in conjunction with District 289. The program will provide care for students K-5th Grade after school throughout the school year. (2018-2019)

The program includes; playground or gym time daily to burn off that extra energy after a long day of school, daily snack, homework time with assistance, and free time for crafts & activities.

The program is offered Monday – Friday on normal school attendance days only. (Early dismissal days will not be offered).

Summer Adventure Camp (S.A.C.)

Half Day Camp
Crafts will be made along with exploring the nature around Mendota’s own adventurous lake! June 28th will be a closing party at Mendota Pool.

Ages: Boys/girls 4-10 yrs old.

Tennis Camp
5 week instructional camp focuses on the basic tennis skills for beginners, and those who are looking to improve their current skills!

Ages: Boys/Girls 7-13 yrs old.

Location: High School Tennis Courts

Fees: $40/YM & $50/NYM


Youth Soccer League/Clinic
5 week league is designed for your child to learn the fundamentals of soccer and practice them in a game setting. ½ the night practice & ½ night game time.

Ages: Boys/Girls 4-6 yrs old (Not in M.A.Y.S.)

Fall Programs

NFL Flag Football

Back by popular demand! NFL Flag Football, a 6 week program is geared towards the child who wants to try out football without the risk of injury. Practices will be held on Monday evenings and games will take place on Saturday mornings. Each participant receives an NFL Flag Football Jersey & Belt.

When: Saturdays, September 15-October 20
Time: 9:00 am; game start
Ages:  Boys/Girls Grades K-4 (2018-2019 School year)
Fee: $50 members $60 Non members
Location: Mendota Soccer fields.

Youth Archery
Y staff will teach the participants safety rules and guidelines for archery. Participants will practice their shooting skills and aim while supervised by adults in a safe environment.
When: Thursdays, beginning September 13-October 18
Time: 5-5:30pm (7-10 yrs) & 5:40-6:15pm (11-13 yrs)
Ages: Boys/Girls; 7-13 years old
Fee:$25 members $35 non members
Location: Mendota Area YMCA

Youth Volleyball 

This 6 week program is designed for your child to learn the fundamentals of volleyball through skill drills, instruction, and game play. The final night will be games.

When: Wednesday’s beginning November 7
**Please note – No games on November 21**
Time: 5-5:50pm
Ages: Boys/Girls Grades 2-6 (2018-2019 School year)
Fee: $45/Members & $55/Non-Members
Location: Lincoln School (Old gym, Please use door 5)

Parent’s Night Out

Send your child(ren) to P.N.O. The Y staff will supervise the children while they play, do crafts, watch a movie and eat dinner all while you enjoy a night out.

Dates: Friday, October 19 & Friday December 14
Time: 6:00-9:00pm
Who: Boys/Girls ages 3-12 years old
Location: Lincoln School Gym Door 5
Y Members:
$6 (1 kid), $5 (2 kids), and $4 (3 kids)

Scholarship and Financial Assistance

Scholarship Policy

The Illinois Valley Y believes in providing membership and program services to all who desire to participate in the Y. If you are interested in making the Y a part of your life, but feel you cannot afford the regular rates, you may be awarded a partial scholarship of acceptance. The scholarship program, supported in part through Y Care campaigns, provides membership and program scholarships for those in need within our available resources.

Please click on the link below to be able to print out the scholarship form. Please remember to include all of your financial information and documentation to the Y. If no information is included with the scholarship, it will be returned and no scholarship will be awarded until financial information is given. This includes latest tax forms, social security payments, medical card, food stamps, etc. Copies only please. If you need copies made, please stop in at the Y and the courtesy counter will be glad to do this for you and return to you your original copies.
