Fitness is FUN for everyone.


The Illinois Valley Y is a place to have fun and learn how to be healthy during class time with youth sports.

Youth Gym

The Illinois Valley youth gym is open during all operation hours of the YMCA. The gym is open for basketball or volleyball, and is equipped with 3 volleyball courts and 6 basketball backboards. At times the gym may be scheduled with youth activities in non-primetime hours.

Youth Wellness Center Blue Card Training

Are you 11 years of age and tired of just playing in the gym and are you serious about getting in shape? Well, the YMCA has a program for you. Sign up now to receive your Wellness Center Training from one of the quality YMCA personal trainers. Class is required if you wish to use the Wellness Center. Must have blue card training and blue card in person at all times when in the Wellness Center.

Who:  YMCA members age 11-17

Fee: Free to YMCA members and is by appointment only please call and set up an appointment now

Program Cancellation Information

  1. Payment of class fee is required at time of registration in order to secure your enrollment.
  2. Certain programs have a separate registration form.
  3. Refunds/Credit Vouchers

Definitions:

Refund

The YMCA will send a check for the amount owed to the member/participant. Processing a refund may take up to two weeks.


Credit Vouchers

The YMCA will electronically deposit the credit amount into the member/participant’s YMCA account (not a bank account). It can be redeemed toward any program, product or service the Illinois Valley YMCA offers.

The YMCA reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine classes that do not have sufficient enrollment. In the event of a canceled class due to lack of enrollment, a full refund or credit will be issued.

A pro-rated refund will only be given if participation ceases due to medical reasons. A note from the doctor will enable one to receive a refund.

There are no credits given for individual classes missed.

No refunds/credits are given on individual classes cancelled due to weather.

Some programs require a deposit/registration fee that is non-refundable. Participant cancellation in these programs will result in loss of the deposit.

The YMCA will not make up or refund any programs (i.e. swim lessons, aerobic classes, camps, etc.) that fall on a holiday.

For school age care, preschool, and/or camp payments, No refund or vouchers will be given. Example: If you pay for a week of camp/school age care and there is a day missed due to illness, vacation, etc. No refunds/vouchers will be issued for days missed unless there is a medical excuse with a note from your medical provider.


Program Cancellations
In the event of insufficient enrollment, the YMCA may need to cancel a class. If this occurs, we will contact you and issue a full refund.

Winter/Spring Youth Basketball

Rimball

Pre-School basketball program that teaches the basics of the game will take place in the Green Gym on the south end.

Dates: Saturdays beginning January 13 (5wks)
Age: Boys/Girls; 3-4 year olds
Time: 9:30-10:00am
Fee: $20/Members & $30/Non-Members


Big K Basketball

Big K Basketball introduces your child to the game of basketball. It is played in the green gym with shorter baskets.

Dates: Wednesdays, beginning January 17 (5 weeks)
Ages: Kindergarten
Time: 3:30-4:15pm
Fee: $25/Members & $35/Non-Members


Illinois Valley Y Recreational Girls/Boys Basketball League

Designed to teach the proper way to dribble, shoot, and pass. Participants will learn how to play offense and defense.

Dates: Mondays, beginning January 8 (5 weeks)
Ages: Boys/Girls 6-7 year olds & 8-10 year olds
Time: 4:00-5:00 pm (6-7) & 5:00-6:00 pm (8-10)
Scrimmage Games: Saturdays beginning January 13; 10:00-11:00am (6-7) & 11:00-12:00pm (8-10)

 


Young Ladies Basketball League

Get involved in this recreational basketball league where you can improve your skills and fundaments. All levels of play are welcome. We will practice 30 minutes and then look to play games scrimmage for the remainder of the time. This is the ideal program to introduce young ladies to the rules and fundaments in order to be successful in competitive basketball.

Dates: 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, Off week, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23 (Last Day) (6 weeks)
Time: 4:00-5:00pm
Ladies ages: 11-15 years old
Fee: $30/Members & $40/Non-Members

Winter/Spring Youth Sports

YMCA T Ball

At the Illinois Valley YMCA our participants will learn the basics of t-ball in this great introductory sport. Participants will learn how to catch throw, and hit the ball off at hitting tee in a fun tem environment. The focus of the league is to have fun, meet new friends, and play t-ball in a non-competitive environment.

Dates: Saturdays, beginning April 7
Ages: 3-6 years old
Time: 9:00-10:00am
Fee: $30/Members & $40/Non-Members


Sports of all Sorts


This program is designed to get youngsters socialized and introduced to various sports. We focus on fundamentals and we go out of our way to include the kids in basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, and other sports in our indoor Green Gym. Parents are encouraged to stick around and join in, but it is not mandatory.
Days: Saturdays beginning February 4 (4 weeks)
Ages: Boys/Girls 3-4 year olds
Time: 12:15-12:55pm
Fees: $20/Members & $30/Non-Members


Sports Specific Training

This is one-on-one sports specific training ideal for in season or out of season athletes. We will build an exercise program specific to your needs and help you to excel towards your goals while also minimizing the risk of injury.
