Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Screenings

OSF Saint Paul Medical Center comes to the Y to provide these screenings. You can have a fasting blood sugar or a post prandial (after you eat) blood sugar. Results are available immediately.

When: 2nd Tuesday of every month

After School Program

The Mendota Area Y will be offering an after school program in conjunction with District 289. The program will provide care for students K-5th Grade after school throughout the school year. (2018-2019)

The program includes; playground or gym time daily to burn off that extra energy after a long day of school, daily snack, homework time with assistance, and free time for crafts & activities.

The program is offered Monday – Friday on normal school attendance days only. (Early dismissal days will not be offered).

Summer Camp Information

Camp Hours:
Camp Day; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Days: Monday- Friday
Ages: 4-12 years old
Dates: June 10-August 7
Before Care:  7:00-8:00 am & After Care:  4:00-5:30 pm
Before & After Care prices are included in our weekly rates.

** ALL SUMMER CAMP DAY CAMP registrations are due the Thursday before the week they attend. Ex. Your child is to attend the week of June 10, registration and payment are due June 6.

Summer Adventure Camp (S.A.C.)

Half Day Camp
This Camp is made for the ultimate adventure experience for your child. Crafts will be made along with exploring the nature around Mendota’s own adventurous lake! July 3rd will be our closing party at the Mendota Pool.

** Campers will be going on exciting field trips that are related to the weekly themes. All Day Campers will automatically be enrolled in S.A.C. (Summer Adventure Camp) during weeks it is provided and will be bused to the lake to participate. The Mendota Area Y and Illinoi Valley Y are collaborating on field trips and special events to provide campers with more opportunities for learning and FUN!

Ages: Boys/girls 4-10 yrs old.

PreSchool Soccer Camp

This 5 week skills camp is designed to introduce structure, rules, and discipline of soccer through fun games and interaction with constantly changing activities that keep them focused. The main goal for the kids is to have to have an enjoyable experience and learn the basics; like ball control but without the sense of being; “trained” or instructed to deliver a certain level of skills.

Ages: Soccer Tots (ages 2-3 year olds) & Little Kickers (ages 4-5 year olds)
Time: Soccer Tots (5:00-5:40p) & Little Kickers (5:50-6:30p)

Youth Speed, Agility, and Plyometrics Training
Calling all athletes! It’s time to jump start your fall season! Train for any sport! Focus on base strength and body weight exercises as well as workout drills for agility, speed, quickness, core, and reaction time.

Football Skills Introduction Camp
This skills camp is aimed at teaching introductory football skills in preparation for flag football. Includes a FREE t-shirt!

Fall Programs

NFL Flag Football

Back by popular demand! NFL Flag Football, a 6 week program is geared towards the child who wants to try out football without the risk of injury. Practices will be held on Monday evenings and games will take place on Saturday mornings. Each participant receives an NFL Flag Football Jersey & Belt.

Who: Boys and girls’ grades K-5 (2019-2020 School year)
Practice: Tuesdays; 5:00-6:00pm Starting 9/10
Location: Junior Tackle Practice Fields
Game: Saturdays, 9:00am Starting 9/21

Youth Archery
Y staff will teach the participants safety rules and guidelines for archery. Participants will practice their shooting skills and aim while supervised by adults in a safe environment.

Youth Volleyball 

This 6 week program is designed for your child to learn the fundamentals of volleyball through skill drills, instruction, and game play. The final night will be games.

Who: Boys & girls in grades 1st through 6th GRADES 1-3 Days & Time: Wednesday, 5:00-5:50pm
GRADES 4-6 Days and Time: Wednesday, 6:00-6:50
Dates: November 6th – December 18th
No Volleyball Nov. 21st
Location: Lincoln School (Old Gym, Please use Door 5)

Parent’s Night Out

Send your child(ren) to P.N.O. The Y staff will supervise the children while they play, do crafts, watch a movie and eat dinner all while you enjoy a night out.

Scholarship and Financial Assistance

Scholarship Policy

The Illinois Valley Y believes in providing membership and program services to all who desire to participate in the Y. If you are interested in making the Y a part of your life, but feel you cannot afford the regular rates, you may be awarded a partial scholarship of acceptance. The scholarship program, supported in part through Y Care campaigns, provides membership and program scholarships for those in need within our available resources.

Please click on the link below to be able to print out the scholarship form. Please remember to include all of your financial information and documentation to the Y. If no information is included with the scholarship, it will be returned and no scholarship will be awarded until financial information is given. This includes latest tax forms, social security payments, medical card, food stamps, etc. Copies only please. If you need copies made, please stop in at the Y and the courtesy counter will be glad to do this for you and return to you your original copies.
